A design-led British house of two woody, powdery eaux de parfum, handmade in England

About AFOWER

AFOWER is a British fragrance house that says it was born in the Black Country and is based in London. It launched in 2024 with two eaux de parfum, Blue Iris and Sanctity, and its pages say it showed in London and Stockholm within its first year. The pages name no founder.

The house frames its work as a study of collective imperfection, and how flaws can sit alongside personal improvement. That idea runs into the packaging: the bottle closure is designed in-house and its surface is meant to map the marks and contours of a life that is not perfectly symmetrical. Each fragrance is handmade in England. The name comes from a Black Country dialect word for before, a nod to the region its makers call home.

Both perfumes are built on cashmeran and cedarwood. Blue Iris is a powdery scent in which clary sage opens the top and orris root takes over, then palo santo, frankincense and cedarwood settle into an earthy, still base. The house links it to the last analogue feeling before everything sped up. Sanctity is sweet, dark and resinous. Saffron and jasmine open with an incense-like floral note, panela adds a molasses warmth, and the base resolves into amber, fir resin and cedarwood. It takes its idea from the odour of sanctity.

AFOWER sits at the artistic, small-range end of independent British perfumery: two scents, a clear concept and a design-led approach. It suits wearers who like quiet, woody and powdery perfumes with a story, and buyers who want a young house with a point of view.
