Atwood Parfum
Provincetown-inspired niche perfumes from Brooklyn and Cape Cod
All 3 Atwood Parfum perfumes on ScentVerdict have a verdict. All 3 are Statements. Each verdict sorts a perfume by character, using the same measures for every house, whatever it costs or who makes it.
Atwood Parfum is an independent American fragrance house inspired by the geography, history and culture of Provincetown, Massachusetts, at the tip of Cape Cod. It was established in 2025 by self-taught perfumer Luke Anapolis, who formulates and develops everything in-house and splits his time between Brooklyn and Provincetown.
The name comes from John Atwood, a fisherman who built the first house at Long Point in 1818, in a village whose homes were later floated across the bay to Provincetown. The house calls itself a tribute to everyone who arrived as an outsider and stayed as themselves: the Wampanoag, Pilgrims, Portuguese fishermen, artists, dreamers, lovers and queers. The project began as a personal mission to archive the scent of Cape Cod's pitch pines, which Luke could not find in any bottle, so he made it himself.
The range is four 30 ml Eau de Parfums. Beech Forest is a pitch pine and dry forest floor scent, Boy Beach a sunny fig and dune grass beach scent, Penuche a salty vanilla ice cream with worn leather, and Saltbox a green garden scent of ivy, hydrangea and violet with cedar and tea. Each full bottle comes with a sample vial and a 14-day return on the unopened bottle, and a Discovery Set offers a credit against a full bottle.
All Atwood fragrances are vegan and cruelty-free, and made without ambergris, musk or civet. The house sells through its own website and a growing set of online retailers.
An indie, luxury house known for woody compositions.
Atwood launched in 2025 with Beech Forest, Boy Beach and Penuche, and added Saltbox in 2026.
A young Provincetown-inspired house with four lifelike Eau de Parfums. Boy Beach and Beech Forest lead the early praise.
