Scent Profile

Fruity leads and leads clearly. Every use of the term is a fruit opening, and Perfume Stars describes the fresh berry character as the starting point before it changes: 'fresh blackcurrant berries and buds gradually lose their bright color and tart natural flavor, turning into milky incense'. Lactonic is the creme half and comes from that same sentence, the word milky. It is the whole reason this differs from the published blackcurrant note, which scores lactonic at zero. Sweet_vanillic is not quoted by any source. It is scored because creme in a note name means sweetened, and because all three attestations pair it with sweet fruit rather than with sour fruit. The spread on it says how little supports it. Green and sulphurous are the cassis material showing through, both damped from the published blackcurrant note, where green and sulphurous. Perfume Shrine gives the reference point that is being damped: natural blackcurrant bud absolute 'comes off as greener and lighter with a characteristic touch of cat'. Cutting them is a judgement about what cream does to that edge, not a claim that any source called this note less catty. They are not zeroed, because nobody said the cat is gone. Below the line, sour is the tart half of 'tart natural flavor', animalic is the same catty facet the parent scores, and clean_musk is the soft musk that carries a fruit-cream accord.

Origin

Not a distilled or extracted material. It is an accord: a cassis base or blackcurrant bud absolute paired with lactonic and vanillic materials so the sharp sulphurous top is damped. No supplier sheet or GC profile exists for a fixed material of this name. Parfumo uses the same '<fruit> creme' pattern for Pineapple creme, which supports reading creme here as a creamy treatment of the fruit rather than as a liqueur.

Usage in Perfumery

Three Parfumo entries, all placing it in the top: Boadicea the Victorious Pioneer, Maison Margiela Replica Promenade in the Gardens (both alongside mandarin orange and star anise) and Victoria's Secret Seduction No. 1 Dark Orchid, alongside bergamot, blood orange, plum and yuzu zest. In all three it does the job of a soft, sweet fruit opening rather than a dairy base.
