About
Canna flower is the bloom of Canna indica and its relatives. It is nearly scentless. The plant is pollinated by birds, which hunt by sight, so it never evolved a strong smell. No essential oil or absolute of it is made.

Canna Flower barely smells of anything, faint and grassy rather than floral. What little scent there is reads greener in a crushed leaf than in the bloom itself. A whisper of warm pollen dust sits behind the green, faintly sweet and faintly honeyed. Any floral character is barely there at all, more a suggestion than a real flower smell.

Canna indica and related species, tropical. The source says the crushed leaf smells stronger than the flower: vegetal, slightly waxy and green. The rhizome contributes a starchy quality. There is no commercial extract, so any canna flower in a formula is a reconstruction from green-floral and starchy materials.
