Rosewood Leaf
Note Profile
About
Rosewood leaf oil is a colourless to pale yellow essential oil distilled from the leaves of the rosewood tree. It smells fresh, green and herbal, with a soft wood that comes only late.
Scent Profile
Rosewood leaf smells fresh, green and bitter at first, like cut grass and crushed aromatic herbs. A faint rosy floral runs through it, with a slight camphor note. Wood comes only in the drydown, a soft, warm woodiness that turns mellow and a little sweeter. It is brighter and more herbal than the wood oil, and less floral.

ScentArt
Origin
Steam distilled from the leaves of Aniba rosaeodora, as a sustainable alternative to the heartwood oil. Linalool makes up most of the oil, about 80 to 95%.
Usage in Perfumery
Used to reinforce the green side of a composition, and to give a green-floral lift in fougere and aromatic accords that differs from lavender. It is also offered as an alternative to the heartwood oil, with a brighter, more herbal reading.
