Cigarette is a composed accord for the smell of a burning or just-extinguished cigarette. It is not an extract and no natural material carries it. The note is burnt paper and ash, not cured leaf, and that is what separates it from tobacco.

Smoky leads and the source says so in its first three words: 'Smoky, ashy, papery'. It is thin and acrid rather than rich - 'less sweet than pipe smoke, less rich than cigar'. Tobacco_hay is burnt leaf, not cured leaf. The accord is built on tobacco absolute, but the source draws a hard line against the published tobacco note: this is 'smoked rather than cured leaf', with none of tobacco's honeyed warmth. Mineral is the ash, which the source calls the dominant character and lists again in the build as 'ashy-mineral modifiers'. Dry_woody stands in for the burning paper, and it is the weakest fit in the vector. The source keeps returning to a 'cellulosic', 'ashy-papery dryness' that no facet in this vocabulary names. No natural extract exists. Premiere Peau records the note as 'N/A - perfumery accord' and gives the build: tobacco absolute, smoky materials such as cade oil or birch tar, papery-cellulosic notes, and acrid modifiers with pyridine at trace level. The real smell it copies comes from pyridine, nicotine derivatives, furfural and phenols in cigarette smoke, plus the burning paper. Pipe and cigar smoke have no paper component, which is why they smell sweeter and richer.

Usage in Perfumery

A heart-to-base atmospheric note in nocturnal, urban and nostalgic compositions. Niche houses use it for nightlife, rebellion and cultural nostalgia rather than comfort. It pairs with leather, coffee, lipstick and alcohol notes.
