A given perfume with this note may use this material, or something else.
Origin
Clarycet is IFF's trade name for 4-methyl-2-propyltetrahydropyran-4-yl acetate, CAS 131766-73-9. It is a synthetic ester, not an extract of clary sage. Some suppliers sell it as Sagecete.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it as a middle note to give a clean clary sage and chamomile effect. It also supports rose and plum accords. One supplier gives 25 hours on a smelling strip at 10%.
