Edenolide
Note Profile
About
Powdery, creamy white musk with a soft green-apple note
Scent Profile
Edenolide is a soft, powdery white musk, creamy and warm. A fresh green-apple note sits on top of the musk, softened rather than juicy. The musk stays sheer and steady through the drydown, clean rather than animal.

Origin
Edenolide is a synthetic musk made by IFF, CAS 478695-70-4. It is not found in nature. Applelide, the earlier IFF grade, shares its CAS number. Edenolide is an enriched isomer form of it, which suppliers describe as softer, richer and more diffusive. Brands print both names.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it for its smell and as a fixative. It gives a sheer, powdery musk to feminine and masculine fragrances, and its fruity side suits fruity and floral accords that need a musky background.
