Flax Blossom
Note Profile
About
Flax blossom is the pale blue flower of Linum usitatissimum, not the seed and not the fibre. One community source describes it, and that single paragraph is the whole of the direct evidence: subtle, slightly grassy, with hints of floral sweetness, fresh and clean rather than heady. It is scored here as a light green-floral field note. Every facet carries a wide spread because no supplier, trade house or analytical source describes the flower's odour.
Scent Profile
Green leads and it is the grassy kind, thin and sappy rather than leafy, because the one source that describes the flower calls it 'subtle and slightly grassy' before it calls it anything else. Floral sits just under it, soft and sweet, held below green because the same source says 'hints of floral sweetness' and 'not overwhelmingly fragrant'. A clean_musk facet carries the fresh, laundered impression that both the ScentSeeker line and The Perfume Society's field imagery point at. A thin aquatic_ozonic breeze and a trace of herbal stem sit below the level worth naming as structure. None of the nutty, dry, seed-and-linen weight of the published `flax` note is present here, and no source claims it for the flower.

Origin
The flower of common flax, Linum usitatissimum. Five pale blue petals on a slender stem, opening for a single morning before the capsule sets. No supplier of a flax-flower absolute, CO2 or headspace capture was found on 2026-08-24. Every commercial product sold as flax oil or flaxseed absolute is pressed from the seed and is a carrier oil, not a flower extract. Any perfumery use of the term is therefore most likely a constructed accord built to evoke a flax field rather than an extract of the bloom.
Usage in Perfumery
Used as a light green-floral top-to-heart accent in field, linen and pastoral builds, where it supplies grassiness with a soft floral edge and no fruit. Measured on 2026-08-24: 9 Parfumo placements across 9 brands, no Fragrantica listing. Nine brands using it once each is the signature of a term perfumers reach for as an image, not a material they buy.
