Holy Water smells of cold, wet stone, like an old stone container inside a church. A faintly ozonic freshness runs through it, close to still water rather than open sea. Incense and myrrh give it a resinous depth, with a distant, smoke soaked quality echoing off the stone. A cool, clean musk sits underneath, like laundered air. A trace of beeswax from votive candles lingers at the edges.

Origin
A fantasy accord. No material is distilled from holy water. Perfumers build it from mineral and stone effects, ozonic aquatic materials, frankincense and myrrh traces, and beeswax. Demeter Fragrance Library sells a single-note cologne under this name, built on 'ozone scented water' and 'oak scented pew'. Parfumo dates it to 1999 and Fragrantica to 2009. Première Peau's glossary describes a stone-and-incense accord instead. Wicked Good Perfume sells a third reading, ozone over tuberose and ylang ylang with patchouli beneath.
Usage in Perfumery
Used to place a fragrance inside a church or a crypt. It sits under incense and resin notes and gives them a cold, wet, architectural floor. In Demeter's cologne the water and ozone lead, and incense is faint.
