About
Operanide is an IFF woody-amber captive. It smells of soft amber over creamy cedar-like wood, with a powdery lift and a light gourmand sweetness. Its point is softness: sources place it below Amber Xtreme and Cashmeran in sharpness while keeping the sillage and length of the woody-amber family.
Scent Profile
Amber_resinous is the dominant facet and all four sources name amber: IFF's own 'creamy soft powdery amber note', Ventos' spec line 'Cedar,woody,creamy,powdery,amber', and a reviewer's 'the primary facet is of dry amber with light nuances of wood'. Creamy_woody covers the creamy half of that same wood, which IFF calls 'soft caring woods' and Ventos lists as 'woody,creamy'. Powdery is named directly by both IFF and Ventos, and it is what separates this material from the sharp woody-ambers. Dry_woody is the cedar Ventos names first and the dryness the reviewers report, held below the creamy value because every source that mentions both leads with softness. Sweet_vanillic is the 'gourmand nuances' IFF claims and the 'dark vanilla' one reviewer reports. IFF recommends it for ambery exotic florals and spicy notes, fresh colognes, soft woods and gourmand types, and states it 'gives a very nice contrast with citrus and cologne notes'.
