Roasted Notes
Note Profile
About
Roasted nut, cocoa and toasted grain
Scent Profile
A warm roasted nut leads, like almonds or hazelnuts just out of the oven. Behind it sits a dry cocoa and coffee bitterness, softened by a little vanilla sweetness and a creamy, milky edge. A faint smoke and a toasted grain or bread crust run underneath.

Origin
No single source. The weighted common ground of 16 published notes whose own subject is roasted or toasted. Toasted almond, coffee, hazelnut and chestnut lead it, with sesame, toast, roasted nuts, barley and roasted cocoa behind them.
Usage in Perfumery
Brands print Roasted Notes when they will not name the roasted material, most often in gourmand and woody-gourmand perfumes. Parfumo lists the term itself on 17 perfumes from 2011 to 2025.
