Scent Profile
Wattleseed smells of dry roasted grain and dark coffee grounds. A sharp, toasted nuttiness of hazelnut skin sits beside it. Underneath is a thin caramel sweetness, a hint of chocolate and a little warm, earthy wood. It is leaner and drier than chocolate and softer than coffee, and it settles into a warm biscuit smell.

Origin
Wattleseed is the roasted, ground seed of Australian Acacia species, mainly Acacia victoriae, used as a bush food. The raw seed has almost no smell. The aroma comes from roasting. No essential oil or absolute is in perfumery supply, so the note is a roasted accord.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it as a grounding base note in gourmand and woody compositions. It gives a dry, coffee-like warmth with less sweetness than chocolate. Its sillage is low and its tenacity moderate.
