Tamarisk
Note Profile
About
Light salty green with floral sweetness
Scent Profile
Tamarisk smells light and airy, fresh and slightly salty, like a warm coastal breeze. Green foliage sits beside the salt, with a soft floral sweetness. A faint, dry resin and a mineral freshness lie underneath. The flowering shrub itself can smell softly powdery.

ScentArt
Origin
Tamarisk is a salt-tolerant shrub of the genus Tamarix, also called salt cedar, which grows on coasts and in deserts. No standard tamarisk extract or CAS number is in perfumery supply. The note is an accord that evokes the plant and its salty habitat.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it as a light, airy heart note in coastal and marine compositions. It bridges a salt or sea-water accord with soft green florals. It adds a faint, dry resin edge that leans toward woods.
