Aromers No 81 Oud Silk Mood is an Extrait de Parfum. No 81 Oud Silk Mood opens with Bergamot and Rose, settles into a heart of Chamomile and Hedione, and dries down to a base of Papyrus, Oud, and Guaiac Wood. Aromers's No 81 Oud Silk Mood carries an Acquired verdict, a oud-led wear.

No 81 captures MFK Oud Silk Mood's smooth, luminous oud direction reasonably well, but it lacks the hedione-driven radiance that gives the original its refined, almost weightless quality.

About

Oud Silk Mood is Francis Kurkdjian's gentler take on oud, using bergamot and Bulgarian rose up top, a chamomile and hedione heart, and a smooth Laotian oud, papyrus and guaiac wood base to keep things luminous rather than heavy. No 81 opens with a similar bergamot-rose freshness and settles into an oud-guaiac wood base that captures the general shape of the original well. The difference is in the finesse: MFK's hedione gives Oud Silk Mood a radiant, almost translucent quality that makes the oud feel refined rather than heavy, and this dupe's version reads a touch flatter and more conventional, without that same luminous lift. Projection is moderate and settles close to the skin fairly quickly. For anyone who wants to try a softer, more approachable oud in the Oud Silk Mood style without the niche investment, it's a reasonable option, even if it doesn't match the original's polish.
