Versace Eros has been a bestseller since 2012 on the strength of its unmistakable opening - cold mint and green apple over lemon - which then warms into a sweet tonka bean and ambroxan heart before settling into a vanilla, cedar and oakmoss base that most wearers get six to eight hours from, sometimes longer. Clean Shaven's version nails that instantly recognisable mint-apple burst, and there's a believable sweetness coming through in the first hour that reads close to the original. The difference is in the finish: real Eros builds a warm, slightly sweet woody-amber trail that keeps announcing itself well into the evening, while the dupe's dry-down fades to something thinner and less defined within a few hours.
