Pretty As Poison

Pretty As Poison is the cherry scent in the Cursed range, and the house calls it its starting point. The story is a sorceress who curses a black cherry tree, and the perfume plays on it: sweet fruit with a bitter, slightly dangerous edge. It opens on ripe black cherry and plum with bitter almond running through them, a marzipan or cherry bakewell feel. Within minutes it turns boozier, as cherry liqueur and rose come forward, the rose sitting deep and dark behind the fruit. The drydown is vanilla, tonka bean and cinnamon, sweet with a little spice, and a faint trace of vanilla and almond can linger on skin. Wear is moderate but the intensity is strong. It reads as a cool-weather evening scent for autumn and winter nights out rather than the office. It sits next to Tom Ford Lost Cherry on the shelf, with a softer, more gourmand, almond-led character. The brand says its perfumes are original creations and that sharing notes with a popular scent does not make a copy.
