Eden Perfumes No.147 Kouros is an Eau de Parfum. No.147 Kouros opens with Bergamot, Coriander, Clary Sage, and Artemisia, settles into a heart of Vetiver, Patchouli, Jasmine, and Iris, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, Oakmoss, and Vanilla. Eden Perfumes's No.147 Kouros carries an Acquired verdict, a aromatic-led wear.

Eden's version of the 1981 classic Kouros keeps the metallic aldehyde blast and musky patchouli-amber base intact, delivering the same love-it-or-hate-it punchy character - though inevitably with less of the original's legendary sillage and staying power.

About

No.147 is Eden Perfumes' interpretation of Kouros, the 1981 Yves Saint Laurent release that's still regarded as one of the defining aromatic-fougere masculines ever made. It opens with the same sharp, metallic aldehyde blast the original is famous for, joined by artemisia, coriander, clary sage and bergamot for a cold, almost medicinal freshness. The heart brings in carnation, patchouli, cinnamon, iris, jasmine, vetiver and geranium, building genuine complexity rather than a simplified fruit-and-wood accord, before the base settles into tonka bean, amber, oakmoss, vanilla and musk - the animalic, musky-amber signature that made Kouros so divisive on release and so beloved by fans since. This dupe captures that punchy, uncompromising character well, though true to its budget positioning it doesn't chase the original's legendary room-filling sillage or the 8-10 hour EDT longevity reviewers still talk about decades later. It's still very much a Marmite fragrance - a real blast from the past rather than a modern crowd-pleaser - and suits anyone who wants to experience classic 80s masculine perfumery without committing to a full-price bottle of the real thing.
