Eden Perfumes No.571 Obsession is an Eau de Parfum. No.571 Obsession opens with Green, Bergamot, Mandarin, and Vanilla, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom, Cedar, Sandalwood, and Oakmoss, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, Vetiver, and Civet. Eden Perfumes's No.571 Obsession carries an Acquired verdict, a oriental-led wear.

Inspired by Calvin Klein Obsession, No.571 captures the vanilla-peach opening and resinous amber-incense base of the 1985 original well, though the civet's animalic edge is softened considerably, giving a cleaner, less feral drydown than the vintage powerhouse it's chasing.

About

No.571 chases Calvin Klein's original Obsession, a fragrance that defined a certain kind of confident, resinous '80s glamour. Vanilla and peach open sweetly alongside bergamot, mandarin and a green facet that echoes the original's basil-tinged freshness, before the composition warms into its spicier character. The heart layers sandalwood, coriander, oakmoss, cedar, orange blossom, jasmine and rose into a dense, spiced floral-woody accord - genuinely close to the original's complexity, if a touch less cohesive. It's the base where Eden's take is smart: amber, incense, vanilla, musk and vetiver give the same warm, resinous depth as the original, with civet included in restrained amounts for a faint animalic warmth rather than the original's much bolder, feral drydown. That's a sensible dupe divergence - full-strength civet reads dated and polarising to modern noses, so this softer version is more wearable day to day while still nodding to the vintage character. Longevity is solid though the trail is narrower than the original's legendary sillage. This suits confident, spice-loving wearers after a warm, sensual oriental for evening occasions and colder months.
