Eden Perfumes No.028 Opium is an Eau de Parfum. No.028 Opium opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, and Lily Of The Valley, settles into a heart of Jasmine, Carnation, and Myrrh, and dries down to a base of Amber, Patchouli, Vanilla, and Opoponax. Eden Perfumes's No.028 Opium carries an Acquired verdict, a spicy-led wear.

Eden's No.028 reaches for Opium's opulent spicy-oriental structure - carnation and jasmine over a patchouli-amber base - and gets the broad strokes right, but comes across noticeably lighter and less velvety than YSL's dense original.

About

Opium is one of the great spicy orientals, and this dupe takes an honest run at its layered structure: a bright citrus and lily of the valley opening leads into a floral heart of carnation and jasmine, intertwined with a touch of myrrh, before settling into a base built on patchouli, opoponax, amber and vanilla. That progression genuinely mirrors the original's arc from fresh to warm to enveloping. The gap opens up in richness - where YSL's Opium is famously dense and velvety, practically a fur coat in scent form, Eden's rendition feels comparatively airy and less saturated, with the spice notes reading more delicate than intoxicating. It is still an elegant, evening-appropriate fragrance well suited to special occasions or a confident date-night choice, just without quite the same room-commanding presence as the original bottle. Best worn in cooler months when its amber-spice character has the right backdrop.
