Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Negus is a simple composition of only three notes, so there is little to hide behind. Frankincense leads with its familiar cool, smoky and slightly lemony resin. Grapefruit adds a bitter, bright edge that keeps the incense from feeling heavy. Opoponax brings a balsamic, slightly sweet warmth underneath. With so few notes, it wears as one clear, resinous accord rather than a story with chapters. It is a dry, airy incense scent with a calm and refined mood.
