Twilly d’Hermès Hair Mist

Hermès built Twilly d'Hermès on three raw materials, and the Perfumed Hair Mist keeps all three. Ginger opens it with a fizzy, peppery bite that is the signature of the line and the reason Twilly never reads as a conventional pretty floral. Tuberose follows, creamy and full and slightly milky rather than the waxy, funereal version of the flower, and sandalwood closes it with a soft, warm woodiness. Hermès describes the mist as the Eau de Parfum reinterpreted as a light, airy and ethereal spray for the hair, in a small bottle designed to be carried, and that is precisely what it is: the same idea at a much lower concentration. The formulation matters here as much as the scent. It is 93% natural ingredients and enriched with an active Hermès calls Healthy Shine Lilac, which is there to protect hair against sun and pollution and to leave it silky and glossy. Applied over wet or dry hair, on the ends, on a hairbrush or inside a hat, it perfumes without the drying alcohol load of spraying an Eau de Parfum directly onto hair. Hair holds scent well, so expect it to be noticeable for several hours in movement even though it never projects. Spring through autumn, and a genuinely good pairing with the Eau de Parfum.
