Gucci's Flora by Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia pairs a juicy pear and red berry opening with a gardenia-jasmine-frangipani heart and a light patchouli base, staying floral and fruity without tipping into sweetness. Inspired By Flora Gorgeous Gardenia leans on mandarin and red berries up front, which is a reasonably close match, and the white gardenia at the centre is the standout note - present and true to the original. Where it diverges is the base: brown sugar accord pushes the drydown noticeably sweeter than Gucci's more restrained patchouli finish, so the overall effect reads a touch more candied. As an oil it also sits close to the skin, and the delicate frangipani nuance that gives the designer version its complexity fades fast, leaving mostly gardenia and sugar by the second hour. A pleasant, cheerful daytime floral, just simpler and sweeter than the original.
