Inspired Oil Perfumes Libre is a perfume oil. Libre opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, and Lavender, settles into a heart of Jasmine Tea, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Musk, Vanilla, and Ambergris. Inspired Oil Perfumes's Libre carries an Acquired verdict, a aromatic-led wear.

Inspired By Libre keeps a soft lavender note but loses the tension between herbal lavender and sweet vanilla-orange blossom that makes YSL's original feel modern; here the vanilla wins early and the composition reads simply sweet-floral.

About

YSL Libre built its identity on a deliberate contrast between masculine, herbal lavender and a traditionally feminine sweet vanilla-orange blossom base - a tug-of-war that gives the fragrance its distinctive, slightly unresolved character. This oil opens with a genuine lavender note, which is a promising start, but the jasmine tea-orange blossom heart softens quickly and the vanilla-musk-ambergris base takes over earlier than it should, so the herbal-sweet tension the original is built around never really develops. What remains is a warm, pleasant vanilla-floral that is easy to wear but noticeably less distinctive than the fragrance it is copying.
