JPG88 Le Beau Male

Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Beau Male is a bright, minty fougere, opening on mint and wormwood over a lavender, orange blossom and sage heart before settling into a clean musk base, offering a fresher, more casual take on the classic Le Male shape. JPG88 keeps the same opening: mint and wormwood up top, lavender, orange blossom and sage in the heart, musk underneath. The mint-lavender freshness is bright and recognisably close to the original in the first stretch of wear. The original's musk base has more roundness and body to it, giving the drydown a smoother finish; here the base is thinner and more one-note, fading to a simple clean musk without much further development. A decent, wearable everyday fresh fougere for casual use, if less polished in its finish than the real Le Beau Male.
