Luxe Fragrances Maine is an Eau de Parfum. Maine opens with Mandarin, Orange Blossom, and Cardamom, settles into a heart of Cedar and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Amber, Heliotrope, and Vanilla. Luxe Fragrances's Maine carries a Statement verdict, a white floral-led wear.

Maine keeps the jasmine sambac-amber core that defines Mugler's Alien front and centre, but Luxe Fragrances' own notes add a fruitier mandarin-cardamom opening and a sweeter vanilla-heliotrope base than the original's stark, futuristic minimalism.

About

Inspired by Alien is Luxe Fragrances' reading of Thierry Mugler's Alien, the 2005 Dominique Ropion composition built almost entirely around jasmine sambac, cashmeran wood and white amber rather than a conventional pyramid. Maine's own stated notes broaden that structure with a mandarin-cardamom-orange blossom opening, a jasmine sambac-cedarwood heart, and a heliotrope-amber-vanilla base. The jasmine sambac heart is the clear anchor and the strongest point of resemblance to the real Alien, giving Maine a genuinely warm, white-floral-amber character from the first application. Where it diverges is complexity of a different kind - the original is famous for its minimalism, an almost eerie, futuristic cashmeran-jasmine-amber accord with barely any top note at all, while Maine adds a fruitier citrus-spice opening and a sweeter heliotrope-vanilla base that make it read as a more conventional gourmand-amber floral rather than Alien's stark, otherworldly signature. Performance runs three to five hours with moderate projection, short of the original's reputation for excellent longevity and sillage from just a few sprays. A warm, wearable jasmine-amber option for fans of the genre, though the minimalist, futuristic character that made Alien so distinctive is softened into something sweeter and more familiar.
