Luxe Fragrances Segura is an Eau de Parfum. Segura opens with Violet Leaf and Cardamom, settles into a heart of Cypriol Oil Or Nagarmotha, Ambrox Super, Cedar, and Orris, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Sandalwood. Luxe Fragrances's Segura carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

Segura reproduces the cardamom-violet-cedarwood signature that made Le Labo's Santal 33 a modern classic, but the leather note that gives the original its smoky edge is essentially absent, so it settles into a softer, sweeter sandalwood.

About

Le Labo's Santal 33 opens with a sharp, aromatic cardamom-violet burst before creamy sandalwood and dry cedarwood take over, joined by papyrus and a leathery base that gives the whole composition its addictive, slightly smoky edge and famously long staying power. Segura, inspired by it, gets the opening right: cardamom and violet leaves set the same spicy-floral tone, and the cedarwood-orris heart carries a fair amount of the original's dry, woody character. The gap opens in the base - the leather note that defines Santal 33's more sophisticated, smoky-skin finish is barely present here, replaced by a simpler musk-sandalwood-amber combination that reads softer and sweeter rather than dark and resinous. The result is a pleasant, recognisably Santal 33-adjacent woody scent that trades the original's brooding complexity for something friendlier and easier to wear, at a noticeably shorter wear time than Le Labo's eight-plus hours.
