Maison Noir Vertigo 236 is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2022. Vertigo 236 opens with Lemon, Saffron, and Mint, settles into a heart of Ambroxan and Clary Sage, and dries down to a base of Musk, Vetiver, and Patchouli. Maison Noir's Vertigo 236 carries a Favourite verdict, a citrus-led wear.

Lemon and mint over clary sage and ambroxan, drying down on clean vetiver, patchouli and musk. A crisp aromatic fresh scent for hot days and the office, with more grip than most citrus openings manage.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer
Also Works:
Fall

Lemon, mint and an ozonic ambroxan heart are built for heat, and the clean vetiver base keeps it dry rather than warm. Winter would flatten the citrus before it had a chance.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Date Casual Sport
Also Works:
Formal

Moderate projection and a clean aromatic profile make it the safest fragrance in the range for shared spaces, daily wear and even active days.

About

Vertigo 236 is the fresh one in the Maison Noir range, and it is built with more care than the category usually gets. Lemon and mint leaves open it sharp and cold, genuinely bracing rather than merely clean, and saffron sits underneath adding a dry, slightly leathery hum that gives the citrus somewhere to go. The heart is short and functional. Clary sage keeps the aromatic thread running and ambroxan takes over as the citrus fades, providing the salty, mineral radiance that makes the whole thing feel ozonic and open-air. The brand talks about a wild ocean and Mediterranean citrus groves, and that is a reasonable description of the effect. The base is where it earns its keep: clean vetiver, patchouli and musk hold a dry woody finish that lasts long after the lemon has gone. Performance is respectable for a fresh composition, roughly six hours on skin with the ambroxan carrying most of the back half. It is the most versatile fragrance the house makes. Summer and spring are the obvious home, it is entirely safe for an office, and it is the only one in the range that would survive a gym bag. Alexandra Monet of Firmenich composed it. Think aromatic fougere-adjacent freshness rather than niche heaviness.
