Match Fragrances Five is an Eau de Parfum. Five opens with Bergamot, Neroli, Ylang-Ylang, and Aldehydes, settles into a heart of Rose, Jasmine, Iris, and Lily Of The Valley, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, Sandalwood, and Vetiver. Match Fragrances's Five carries a Favourite verdict, a aldehydic-led wear.

Match Fragrances' interpretation of Chanel's No 5 (1921) - the Ernest Beaux aldehydic floral that defined twentieth-century perfumery, here translated into an aldehyde-ylang opening over rose and jasmine with a sandalwood-vanilla close. Honest dupe-fidelity for formal wear at a fraction of the designer price.

About

Inspired by No 5 is Match Fragrances' budget reading of Chanel's 1921 No 5, the Ernest Beaux aldehydic floral that became the most iconic women's fragrance of the twentieth century. Match's pyramid mirrors the original community pyramid: aldehydes, ylang-ylang, neroli and bergamot on top, a may rose-jasmine-iris-lily of the valley heart, and a sandalwood-vanilla-vetiver-musk-amber close. The first hour is the strongest match: that signature aldehyde lift sits clearly over the ylang and neroli, with the trademark soapy-sparkling impression arriving within minutes. By the heart the may rose and jasmine bloom together, with iris adding the powdery floral backbone and lily of the valley lifting the bouquet. The dry-down trades on sandalwood as the anchor, with vanilla and amber adding the soft-warm close and vetiver-musk rounding the woody backbone. Performance is the budget compromise: four to six hours of moderate sillage rather than the long-trail projection No 5 is famous for. The character is aldehydic-floral and reads classic-feminine, with all four seasons workable and date, formal and evening the natural settings. The honest caveat: at fifty millilitres for under thirty pounds, the Chanel's polished aldehyde-sandalwood depth and the legendary sillage that made No 5 the defining classic floral are softened here, and the dupe reads cleaner and shorter-lasting than the Chanel bottle. Sits next to other budget classic-floral dupes in the dupe-house neighbourhood, while the original sits with Lanvin Arpege, Patou Joy, and the broader vintage-floral conversation.
