Montale Aoud Shiny is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2008, created by Pierre Montale. Montale's Aoud Shiny carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

This one's a proper Montale - strong, divisive, and not for the faint-hearted. It's a love-it-or-hate-it kind of oud-rose, smelling either intoxicating or like 'iodine and herbs'.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall
Also Works:
Spring Winter

An autumn-weather scent at heart - warm leaves and shorter days territory.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal

Its eternal longevity and monster projection make it too overwhelming for the office, but perfect for making a statement on a date or at a formal event. It's a bit much for casual daytime wear unless you want to be noticed.

Declarable allergens

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

About

Opens with a potent, medicinal oud, quickly joined by a prominent, sometimes sweet, rose and the earthy depth of patchouli. Violet leaf adds a unique powdery, almost leathery floral touch, cutting through the richness. The dry down settles into a woody embrace of sandalwood and cypriol, retaining a lingering hint of the initial floral-oud intensity.
