Oakcha Old Barrel is an Extrait de Parfum. Old Barrel opens with Lavender, Cardamom, and Saffron, settles into a heart of Jasmin Sambac, Oakmoss, Geranium, and Rosemary, and dries down to a base of Amber and Patchouli. Oakcha's Old Barrel carries a Favourite verdict, a fresh-led wear.

Lavender, cardamom and saffron over herbs, geranium and sambac jasmine, with oakmoss, patchouli and amber below. A classic barbershop-style aromatic for men. It is Oakcha's take on Beau de Jour.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Old Barrel smells like a good barbershop: clean, herbal and a little warm. Lavender leads the opening, with cardamom and saffron adding a dry, golden spice that feels crisp and tidy. The heart is aromatic and green. Rosemary and basil bring a fresh kitchen-garden edge, geranium adds a minty, rosy tone, and sambac jasmine gives a creamy white floral lift. Oakmoss starts to show here too, adding a damp, mossy depth. The base is short but strong. Patchouli gives earth, and amber adds a smooth, sweet warmth that softens the herbs and holds the whole scent together until the end. At extrait strength it holds for many hours and stays sharp and neat rather than sweet. It is a good fit for men who like traditional aromatic fragrances, for the office, daytime wear and smart casual evenings, in most seasons except high summer. Oakcha no longer sells it, and its page has been removed from oakcha.com; this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a lavender, geranium and oakmoss barbershop scent with a patchouli and amber finish.
