Oakcha Samar is an Extrait de Parfum. Samar opens with Pepper and Saffron, settles into a heart of Rose, Carnation, and Sage, and dries down to a base of Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha. Oakcha's Samar carries an Acquired verdict, a spicy-led wear.

A peppery rose with a herbal sage twist, resting on warm cypriol and dry leather. Oakcha's take on Riviere, for anyone who likes rose with spice and a sun-warmed finish.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Samar opens with a dry, bright snap. Indian black pepper gives heat, saffron adds a golden glow, and the two together set a warm, spicy tone straight away. The heart is unusual. Sage brings a herbal, dusty freshness, Turkish rose gives a plush floral core, and carnation adds a clove-like spice that ties the heart back to the opening. It is more aromatic than sweet. In the base, Indian cypriol and sun-drenched leather do the work. Cypriol is earthy, smoky and a little woody, and the leather is warm and dry. Together they leave a lasting trail that smells like sun on skin. With a high oil load it wears for many hours, and a little goes a long way. It suits cooler days and evenings, and people who enjoy rose with spice and leather. Samar is no longer sold by Oakcha (its page has been removed from oakcha.com), and this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a peppery rose and leather with a herbal twist.
