Crystal Violet For Women

Perfume Parlour Crystal Violet For Women is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2006. Crystal Violet For Women opens with Cyclamen and Nectarine, settles into a heart of Violet and Floral, and dries down to a base of Amber, Suede, and Almond. Perfume Parlour's Crystal Violet For Women carries a Favourite verdict, a powdery-led wear.

Perfume Parlour's budget take on Hugo Boss Pure Purple, the powdery violet-and-marzipan gourmand floral. It captures the soft black violet and almond-sweet drydown well, though the leather edge softens and the whole thing reads a touch flatter and sweeter than the moderate original.

About

Crystal Violet retraces Hugo Boss Pure Purple: a brief fruity flicker of nectarine and white cyclamen before the powdery black violet takes centre stage, soft and slightly melancholy. The heart is largely about that violet-floral haze, and a marzipan-like almond sweetness creeps in to give it a gentle gourmand twist. The base settles into amber and a soft white-suede note with a faint leather underpinning. Compared with the original, the PP version pushes the powdery-sweet almond a little harder and lets the leather facet fade earlier, so it reads softer, rounder and a touch more 2D. The designer was only a moderate performer to begin with, and this dupe sits close to the skin and fades over a few hours. A refined, powdery violet for cooler-weather daytime and elegant evenings.
