Plum Orchid is Perfume Parlour's affordable interpretation of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '40, the warm, sophisticated 2021 fruity gourmand. It opens rich and juicy - ripe plum, resinous black amber and a glint of cassis - before softening into a gentle floral heart of orchid and jasmine. The drydown is cosy and enveloping: warm vanilla, soft woods and musk, the 'most office-appropriate Cheirosa' character reviewers prize for being less sugary than its siblings. As a budget dupe this version mirrors the original's composition closely, and in EDP form often holds longer than the original mist's three-to-six hours. Reviews are mixed on fidelity - most find it a close, warm plum match, while a few report it reading more herbal or medicinal than the juicy original - so skin chemistry plays a role. A comforting, slightly boozy plum-vanilla for autumn and winter days, dates and easy office wear.
