Empire For Women

Perfume Parlour Empire For Women is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2003. Empire For Women opens with Lemon, Bergamot, Neroli, and Mint, settles into a heart of Ginger, Rose, Celery Seeds, and Rhubarb, and dries down to a base of Oakmoss, Amber, and Musk. Perfume Parlour's Empire For Women carries a Favourite verdict, a citrus-led wear.

A budget reading of Alexander McQueen's cult provocateur Kingdom - the same bright, tart citrus opening tumbling into a warm, spicy floral. Empire captures the zesty-to-spicy arc but tames the original's infamous, divisive cumin-skin facet, reading cleaner and a touch flatter than the bold, sensual classic.

About

Empire opens bright and tart: lemon, bergamot, neroli and a sliver of mint sparkle over mandarin and orange - the zesty rush that launches Alexander McQueen's Kingdom (2003). The heart turns spicier and more carnal with rose, jasmine, ginger and a warm carnation, sharpened by a green rhubarb facet, before settling onto a base of oakmoss, amber and musk. Kingdom is famous (and polarising) for its overdose of dirty, sweaty cumin; Perfume Parlour's interpretation keeps the bold spicy-floral spirit but tames that animalic skin note, so Empire reads cleaner and more wearable - though it loses some of the original's provocative, unconventional character. The blend is a touch flatter and less radiant than McQueen's, with solid but not legendary longevity (the original could last a full day). The effect is bold and sensual without being challenging. Best in cooler weather and mild spring days, it suits evenings, dates and smarter occasions where its spicy warmth feels striking.
