Evening Time

As its name suggests, Evening Time is built for the dark - a budget reading of Sospiro's nocturnal Laylati. A whisper of green freshness opens it before earthy patchouli and dry Virginia cedar take over, the smoky-woody heart that gives the original its mysterious, almost meditative pull. Tobacco, soft vanilla and warm musk round out a base that hums rather than roars. The niche original is famous for its dense, spiritual smokiness and enormous longevity; this dupe keeps the silhouette but renders it thinner and smoother, the smoke gentler and the projection closer to the skin. Longevity is solid yet shorter than Laylati's near-all-day grip. A brooding, masculine-leaning unisex scent for autumn and winter evenings and formal nights.
