Noire Fiber

Perfume Parlour Noire Fiber is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2002. Noire Fiber opens with Saffron, Nutmeg, and Frankincense, settles into a heart of Pepper, Carnation, Rose, and Clove, and dries down to a base of Woody, Patchouli, Amber, and Vanilla. Perfume Parlour's Noire Fiber carries a Statement verdict, a warm spicy-led wear.

Noire Fiber chases DKNY Black Cashmere's smoky saffron-and-incense oriental and lands the warm, spicy heart well. It reads flatter and dries down faster than the original's velvet-and-sequins depth, but for a budget bottle the dark, peppered amber signature is convincingly there.

About

Noire Fiber opens on a dry crackle of saffron and nutmeg with a thread of frankincense, recalling the spicy-oriental signature of DKNY Black Cashmere. The heart turns peppery and floral, white pepper and clove framing carnation and rose, before settling into a base of warm woods, patchouli, amber and vanilla. The original wraps you in a smoky, sexy shroud of incense with heavy early sillage; this Perfume Parlour version captures the shape but renders it flatter and more two-dimensional, with the smoke softened and the drydown turning skin-close within a couple of hours rather than the original's long, brooding stay. It is at its best in cool weather and after dark, where the spice and amber feel cocooning. A faithful, affordable nod to a cult oriental, trading some depth and longevity for the price.
