Powerful Noire opens on a dark, juicy boysenberry before sinking into the signature Black Opium Intense heart of rich coffee, jasmine sambac and orange blossom. The base settles into creamy vanilla, licorice and sandalwood, lending a deeper, slightly boozy sweetness that set the Intense apart from the original. With Black Opium Intense now discontinued, this Perfume Parlour interpretation is a welcome revival - though, like most clones, it renders the composition more two-dimensional, with the berry-coffee sweetness pushed forward while the licorice-sandalwood depth sits thinner and fades faster to the skin. It is a cosy, sensual cool-weather choice for dates and evenings, capturing the Intense mood at a budget price.
