Rebel Aromas The Gentleman is an Eau de Parfum. The Gentleman opens with Bergamot and Lemon, settles into a heart of Spicy and Lavender, and dries down to a base of Leather, Cedar, and Tonka Bean. Rebel Aromas's The Gentleman carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

The Gentleman leans on Givenchy Gentleman's citrus-lavender-woods template, but drops the original's iris powderiness and black vetiver depth for a flatter cedar-tonka base that reads simpler and fades within a few hours instead of lingering all day.

About

Opening with a clean bergamot-lemon burst, The Gentleman moves into a lavender-and-spice heart that echoes Givenchy Gentleman's aromatic fougere backbone reasonably well for the price. Where it falls short is the base - Givenchy's original leans on iris, black vetiver and patchouli for a soft, powdery depth, while this version settles for a more generic cedarwood-tonka-leather combination that smells thinner and less textured. Sillage is modest and the scent sits close to skin after the first hour or two, so it works better as an office or daytime scent than an evening statement piece. The overall shape is there, but the nuance and lasting power that make the original memorable don't fully translate at this price point.
