Scentleys Oud Wood is an Eau de Parfum. Oud Wood opens with Rosewood and Cardamom, settles into a heart of Sandalwood and Oud, and dries down to a base of Amber, Vetiver, and Vanilla. Scentleys's Oud Wood carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

Scentleys' take on Tom Ford's Oud Wood (2007) - the refined, creamy oud-sandalwood-vetiver Private Blend, simplified into a woodier, less nuanced version.

About

Oud Wood is Scentleys' interpretation of Tom Ford's Oud Wood, a refined take on agarwood that pairs a smooth, resinous oud accord with creamy sandalwood, dry vetiver, and warm cardamom. The dupe follows the same top-to-base arc - cardamom and spice on top, oud and sandalwood in the heart, vetiver and vanilla underneath - but the oud accord reads flatter and less resinous than Tom Ford's polished, processed version, and the vetiver's smoky dryness is softened. The cardamom spice is present but less prominent, and the overall effect is warmer and sweeter rather than the original's exotic, sophisticated dry-down. It is a fair everyday woody-oud scent rather than a precise match, with four to six hours of moderate sillage against the Private Blend's respectable but not extraordinary longevity. Reads well year-round, particularly for cooler-weather office and date wear where a soft, approachable oud-wood profile suits smart-casual settings.
