The Essence Vault's No. 8 is built around the radiant orange-blossom-and-honey signature that made Elie Saab Le Parfum a modern classic. The opening captures that couture warmth convincingly, with sun-kissed orange blossom and jasmine sweetened by white honey in a close match to the original's luminous, glamorous character. Where it comes up short is the drydown: Elie Saab's original settles into a more layered patchouli, cedar and musk base that gives the fragrance real staying power and a grown-up, sophisticated finish, while No. 8 thins out sooner into a simpler musk-forward close. The honey note also reads a touch sweeter and less refined here than the original's more balanced gourmand-floral blend. Still, it's a reasonably faithful and affordable route into the Le Parfum mood, well suited to weddings, galas and evening dates where an unmistakably elegant white floral is wanted, even if the lasting power and finishing polish fall short of the designer original.
