The Essence Vault Oud Maracuja - 559 is an Eau de Parfum. Oud Maracuja - 559 opens with Saffron and Passionfruit, settles into a heart of Oud and Rose, and dries down to a base of Leather, Patchouli, and Vanilla. The Essence Vault's Oud Maracuja - 559 carries an Acquired verdict, a fruity-led wear.

Inspired by Maison Crivelli Oud Maracuja, No. 559 keeps the striking passion fruit-oud contrast but simplifies it - the fruit reads syrupier and more one-note, and the smoky oud-leather base fades far sooner than the niche original's all-day sillage.

About

No. 559 opens with an explosive burst of passion fruit and spicy saffron that genuinely nails the unexpected, tropical hook the original is known for - it is the most convincing part of the composition. From there the fragrance settles into a heart of oud wood and Turkish rose, though this transition feels flatter and less textured than Maison Crivelli's carefully built contrast between tart fruit and smoky wood. The base of leather, patchouli and warm vanilla is pleasant but noticeably thinner, missing the resinous depth and slow evolution that give the niche version its reputation. Sillage is loud and radiant for the first couple of hours, then quickly narrows to a close skin scent, a fraction of the 4-5 hour room-filling performance reviewers report for the original. For anyone curious about the fruity-oud concept without the extrait price, it is a decent taste test, but the gap in longevity and complexity is obvious after the first wear.
