Kayali Vanilla 28, composed by Gabriela Chelariu and launched in 2018, is the cleverer adult vanilla in Mona Kattan's Kayali range - the one that pairs vanilla orchid with brown sugar, tonka, jasmine, amber, amberwood, musk and patchouli for an Oriental Vanilla classification rather than pure gourmand. The community consensus describes it as boozy, slightly spicy, the closest a mainstream-niche vanilla gets to feeling like a cocktail bar at midnight. The opening is vanilla-orchid forward with a soft jasmine lift, the heart blooms with brown-sugar warmth and tonka's almond-coumarin depth, and the base settles into an amber-amberwood-musk close.
