The Parfum Hub Caesar is a Parfum. Caesar opens with Bitter Orange, Pepper, and Rosemary, settles into a heart of Neroli, Jasmine, Orris, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Cedar, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Patchouli. The Parfum Hub's Caesar carries an Acquired verdict, a floral-led wear.

Caesar matches Reflection Man's rosemary-neroli-orris structure closely and captures the green, slightly bitter freshness of the 2006 original, but its orris root reads flatter than the real thing's powdery, suede-like richness.

About

Caesar is built on the same skeleton as Amouage's Reflection Man, one of the house's most enduring releases: rosemary, pink pepper and petitgrain up top, jasmine, neroli, orris and ylang-ylang through the heart, sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and patchouli underneath. The green, aromatic opening is a fair likeness of the original's freshness, and the floral heart is recognisably in the same family. Where it comes up short is the orris - Reflection Man's iris root gives the real fragrance a powdery, suede-like texture running through the whole composition that is genuinely difficult to fake cheaply, and Caesar's version reads flatter and more conventionally floral-woody without it. Still one of the more composed, grown-up options in The Parfum Hub's range.
