Lavender and Siam benzoin move in through the heart, adding a soft aromatic sweetness that nods to the original's formal, composed character without quite reaching its polish. The base is a straightforward blend of amber, vanilla, tonka bean, musk and cedar, warm and comforting but noticeably lighter and shorter-lived than the original's dense, smoky amber that famously lasts well over twelve hours. It is a reasonable everyday amber for those who want the mood of Grand Soir without the price tag, but it will not fill a room or last a full evening the way the original does.
