The Parfum Hub Madagascar 46 is an Eau de Parfum. Madagascar 46 opens with Lemon, Orange, and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Dark Chocolate, Cardamom, and Rum, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Patchouli, and Vanilla. The Parfum Hub's Madagascar 46 carries a Statement verdict, a vanilla-led wear.

Madagascar 46 nails the boozy rum-and-cacao top of Dior's Vanilla Diorama but simplifies the sandalwood-patchouli base into a flatter, sweeter vanilla. A close and genuinely likeable opening; less complex once it settles.

About

Madagascar 46 goes after Dior's Privee-line Vanilla Diorama, and the opening does a good job of it: a citrus and pink pepper spark gives way quickly to a rum-and-cacao heart that smells warm and slightly boozy in the same way the original does. This is where the dupe is at its strongest, since that rum-cacao pairing is distinctive and comes through clearly. The base is where it simplifies - the original's sandalwood and patchouli give Vanilla Diorama a smoky, almost leathery depth underneath the sweetness, while Madagascar 46 settles into a straightforward, comforting bourbon vanilla with far less of that woody complexity. It still reads as an indulgent, dessert-adjacent gourmand rather than a cloying one, which keeps it wearable. Longevity is moderate rather than the Dior original's long haul, so a couple of hours in the sweetness will have faded to a soft vanilla musk. For anyone who loves the idea of a rum-cacao vanilla but doesn't need eight hours of it, this is a fair and comforting daily wear.
