The actual composition opens with a brief citrus-petitgrain lift carrying a touch of jasmine, but the opening is the shortest phase of the wear: within minutes the heart settles into red berries threaded with sultry red rose and a warming pinch of cinnamon, the brand's stated centre of the fragrance. Then the drydown takes over, and this is where Deep Red earns its name. A sultry blend of oud and sandalwood, anchored by oakmoss, builds the smoky, grounded, slow-burning ember that the brand prose describes and that the community pyramid confirms note-for-note. Saltworks runs at 25% parfum, and the oud and sandalwood combination delivers eight-plus hours of skin-close projection rather than full-room sillage.
