About

Black Orchid Oud goes deep into a rich, dark world. A sharp, herbal greenness cuts through at first, quickly giving way to a dense, earthy woodiness dominated by deep oud. Truffle and ylang-ylang sit in the opening with a little citrus, while the heart brings orchid, jasmine and incense, with smoky dark chocolate and a touch of powdery sweetness. Vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood and musk fold into the oud in the base. Everything about it is strong: it lasts long, projects strongly and carries real intensity, so one or two careful sprays are plenty. It is a heady, complex scent that demands respect, a cold-weather perfume for autumn first and then winter and spring, and far too much for summer. It is made for date nights and formal evenings rather than offices.
