Yodeyma's 2020 equivalence catalogue positions it explicitly as the Black Opium counterpart, and the retailer-attested olfactory family - Oriental Woody Fruity - mirrors the YSL original's category positioning exactly. The simplified pyramid Yodeyma publishes (coffee, liqueur, vanilla) captures the dominant DNA of the original: the espresso-bitter top, the boozy heart, and the vanilla-musk drydown. The fuller pyramid Black Opium fans recognise - pink pepper top, jasmine and bitter almond heart, patchouli and cedarwood base - is present in shadow form in Yodeyma's reproduction. Community reviews on Amazon UK and across UK fragrance retailer pages consistently describe it as recognisable on first spray to anyone who knows the YSL original. Positioned in the UK market between £15 and £25 for 50ml-100ml depending on retailer, it's roughly an eighth of the cost of full-size Black Opium at Boots.
