Bond No. 9
Not a bench perfumer, Rahmé is known for conceiving perfumes that pay tribute to specific New York City neighborhoods and landmarks, using strong thematic briefs tied to urban geography and local culture. Her style emphasizes bold, often luxurious compositions presented in distinctive, map-printed bottles, with a marketing focus on storytelling about the city rather than a personal olfactory signature.
Laurice Rahmé is a Paris-born fragrance entrepreneur and the founder, president and creative director of Bond No. 9 New York, which she launched in October 2003 after moving to New York in 1974. Before starting Bond No. 9, she worked in the beauty sector at Lancôme and Annick Goutal, and later served as president of Creed USA. Bond No. 9 is known for fragrances inspired by New York City neighborhoods, a concept Rahmé created and directs while collaborating with professional perfumers rather than composing the formulas herself. Her work focuses on branding, storytelling and translating the character of specific city locations into perfume briefs that are then executed by her chosen perfumers.
